The Remembering Math learning objects are designed to help adult learners recall scripts for previously learned mathematical skills. They were developed to help certified Special Education teachers prepare for the PRAXIS exam. The learning objects are structured to offer learners multiple routes to remember specific mathematical concepts and tasks based on the needs of individuals, and their degree of recall for each practice.
The hint sections are designed to give learners who just need a reminder the first step in solving the problem through definition of terminology, guidance towards the first step of a solution strategy, or some other direct cue.

The sandbox sections offer learners the opportunity to explore patterns between the initial problem and the final solution as a way to trigger recall of the mathematical concepts, and the intermediate steps required to solve the problem type.

The tutorial sections are designed to help learners who possess inert knowledge of a problem type turn that knowledge into an actively useable strategy, by providing cognitive guidance that emphasizes the correct sequence for solving the specific problem type.

The chalktalk sections provide the learner with a narrative sequence to help stimulate recall by recreating a “classroom” context so they can remember their own experiences as students learning the content in a prior setting. Chalktalk sections also provide learners who don’t recognize (or never learned) the content with explicit instructions for a problem solving strategy that fits the problem.
