School leadership games are professional training tools built for aspiring and practicing school leaders, as well as anyone who ever wanted the experience of sitting in the principal's shoes. These games will offer complete simulated school leadership experiences, and will ultimately be configurable into a comprehensive game of school leadership in which players will have the opportunity to run schools and learn the necessary skills and qualities of successful school leaders through game play. Through the development of school leadership games our team also works to create communities of practitioners with common languages for discussing both school leadership, and the use of professional practice games and simulations.
School leadership games seize upon the immersive and engaging aspects of a video game to offer users a learning experience in context while also leveraging the intensive levels of performance feedback that game mechanics can offer. The video game format also allows our designers to focus the player's experience around specific concepts and practices during game play, while accurately relating those concepts and practices to real professional challenges. Through school leadership games, players have the opportunity to engage in powerful systemic learning by manipulating a dynamic and interactive simulation.
Previous games about school leadership like SimSchool and School Tycoon focused mostly on resource management, emulating only a small portion of the actual challenges school leaders face. School leadership games seek to reach beyond the scope of these previous games by bringing to the fore the instructional, interpersonal, and even symbolic demands of school leadership, in addition to offering a realistic level of concern with and control over school resources.
